You were the highlight of our student's last day. As you could tell we were a little excited, but your presentation was terrific. I’ve downloaded the great picture from the web to pass along to my students.

Thanks again
for the visit.

At Hogs For Dogs, we believe our charity rides are more than just unique fundraisers. They also provide an opportunity to educate tomorrow's leaders about civic responsibility, the importance of charity in their communities, and how each person - no matter how tall -- can make a difference. We want to assist educators in sharing that message through our website and, where possible, by having the Hogs For Dogs team make personal presentations in their classrooms.

We invite teachers, students, classrooms, and entire schools to log onto the Hogs For Dogs website to follow our yearlong charity ride and to take advantage of our sample lesson plans that will help direct classroom discussions. Engage students with our adventures. Captivate their attention with our pictures and stories about our two Golden Retrievers, Max & Bailey, as they travel the back roads of America in motorcycle sidecars. And while they're laughing at the thought of two dogs wearing goggles and riding in sidecars, teach them about individuals with disabilities and the many ways that they might help those individuals gain more independence and dignity in their everyday lives. Teach them to be heroes in their own communities.

The lesson plans we offer are generic by design so that they might be applied to the widest possible age range and are offered at no cost and with no restrictions. Use the plans in their entirety, one lesson at a time, or pick and choose the segments that best fit the needs of your students; the choice is yours.

The plans are meant to be used as guidelines to direct classroom discussions and projects. If the lesson is about community, perhaps younger students will learn the definition of the word and be able to share what community means to them with the rest of the class. Older students might focus on the elements that form a community or take the time to interview community leaders as part of a special assignment. The decision of what is appropriate for each classroom is left to the teachers who best understand their students' maturity and educational needs.
